Something most of us probably take for granted is our toilet. Even though it seems to be a necessity, 1.19% of households in the U.S. don’t have a flush toilet. Below, you are able to find out information about this and characteristics about these households.

The data for this visualization comes from the United States Census Bureau. It is gathered during the American Community Survey. I used 2014, 1 Year Estimates for this visualization. The mail version of this question is shown below. Since this is a custom tabulation, I had to use the ACS PUMS Microdata.

It would be interesting to know the correlation between flush toilet and the other water-related factors. Are there households reporting no sink with faucet, but a flush toilet? And also the opposite: no flush toilet but a sink with faucet…
